If you have any questions:
Roger Van Brussel
Roger assumed ownership of American Dry Stripping from the Jones family in January 2013. He took ownership of Xtreme Temperature Coatings from Lenny Chiasson in 2016.
After spending 30 years as a sales, marketing and business development executive in healthcare biotechnology and healthcare information technology Roger elected to make a career change and apply his skill sets to his own business. He did have a good foundation for understanding dry abrasive media blasting operations, commonly referred to as sandblasting, prior to purchasing the business.
After he was discharged from the U.S. Navy and before returning to school he spent 7 years sandblasting and painting bridges and other industrial complexes. Roger completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Rhode Island and graduate studies at Boston University in Biological Sciences. An eternally hopeful “Cubbies” fan, which says something about his perseverance and loyalty, Roger brings leadership, vision, strategic planning and determination to execute with the objective of taking American Dry Stripping, along with its incredibly talented team of professionals, to a new level of growth.

Shop Foreman & Master Blaster
Jose, our other big booth operator, has been with American Dry Stripping for over 18 years. Starting his tenure in 1998, Jose is the longest standing team member at American Dry Stripping and a mentor to other blast technicians. It stands to reason then that nothing — and we mean nothing — gets by him. He is all about perfection. He critiques every job he does for quality. Jose is almost satisfied with great… because good just isn’t good enough.
A native of Puerto Rico, Jose is a Bridgeport High School graduate and a 3-time New England Golden Glove champion. Jose knows training, determination and reaching for excellence. When you get your project back from Jose, you can be confident it is done right the first time….every time.
Anthony “Tone” Petrone
Blast Cabinet Technician & Equipment Repair
“Tone” may be a somewhat recent addition to the American Dry Stripping team, but he hit the ground running. Since he started in March of 2012, Anthony made sure to incorporate his incredible range of skills in the shop.
Tone’s attention to detail made him the perfect candidate to take over the newly minted powder coating operations started in June of 2016. Most recently he has trained under Lenny Chiasson, the myth and legend behind Xtreme Temperature Coatings, to become our lead coating specialist.
Tone has received numerous accolades for his work as a powder coater. Did we mention Tone is a 17 handicap golfer, too?
Frederico “Tony” Barbosa, Jr.
Bead Room Blaster
Tony started at American Dry Stripping in 2005. Amazingly, Tony was only sixteen years old when began his career with us. Tony recently was promoted to the bead blasting booth. No matter what media type the job requires, glass bead, aluminum oxide or its complexity, Tony is adept at analyzing the size and scope of work to be performed and then coming up with creative ways for the most efficient methods for completing the task at hand. Tony is the quiet one, not saying much because he is always hard at work thinking about the job.
Mary Ann Brunetto
Blast Cabinet Technician
Mary Ann started with American Dry Stripping in 2015, bringing with her a diligent work ethic. Mary Ann pestered Roger for months to work in the shop. The quality of her work and her level of commitment convinced him. Prior to this, she worked in a scrap metal shop in Bridgeport. Mary Ann focuses on smaller parts jobs and industrial, to ensure they get the fine detail attention they deserve in the blast cabinets. In her free time, Mary Ann is an artist.

He and his family moved to Bridgeport in 1993 from Puerto Rico. When he isn’t working, you might find him stalking Pokemon.
Blasting Technician & Shop Tech
Matt came on board American Dry Stripping and Xtreme Temperature Coatings in early 2016. If there is a person more energetic, with a more can-do attitude, we have not met him. Matt is a jack-of-all-jobs in the shop, working on blasting cabinets, assisting blast booth operators, organizing jobs, and doing the hard-core job of removing undercoating from cars.
Blasting Technician & Shop Tech
Miguel joined the ADS + XTC crew in June of 2015, starting out in the big blast booth. He throws himself into every job in the shop, from blasting cabinet to prep work. Originally from Bridgeport, he lives in Fairfield and loves salt water fishing off a neighborhood dock.

Hunter ensures industrial or car parts and vehicles get picked up and delivered on time and with care. Hunter began playing baseball at a very young age and ultimately pitched college ball for the Allegheny Gators until a shoulder injury sidelined him. Now he is glad to be giving the throwing arm a rest for now.

American Dry Stripping
In 1982, Gary Jones along with his brother and cousin launched American Dry Stripping. After many years of hard work, establishing an exemplary reputation for being one of the best at abrasive blasting and stripping processes, he transitioned the business to Roger.
Gary, who from time to time fondly refers to himself as the “the best stripper in the Northeast,” was the driving force behind the company’s successful history of growth and longevity. Under Gary’s leadership American Dry Stripping and its team of professionals developed an extensive and incredibly loyal customer following based on a culture that is committed to the highest standards of quality, service that exceeds expectations and the philosophy that each and every one of our customers is important to the success of American Dry Stripping.
